All prices include breakfast.  Help yourself to cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts and juices.  There are a variety of teas, which together with freshly ground cafetière coffee will be brought to your table with piping hot brown and white toast.  There is an excellent choice of hot items from boiled eggs with soldiers to a full Yorkshire breakfast with local bacon and handmade sausages, free-range eggs, fresh tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and Bury black pudding.

Dinner in the evening is an optional extra at a special rate for residents of £17.50 for two courses or £20.00 for three courses.  The modern British menu features many traditional favourites as well as something a little different.  See our food and drink page for more information.

Before dinner enjoy a drink in the comfortable lounge area or in the summer, sit out on the terrace and enjoy the quiet, peaceful countryside.  After breakfast relax with a newspaper or magazine and perhaps another pot of tea or coffee.

Most rooms have views of the grounds and the rolling Yorkshire countryside.  The hotel is surrounded by National Trust moorland and there are many walks with breathtaking views.  The river Colne flows past the hotel, and Marsden village is a leisurely stroll along its banks and then the towpath of the Huddersfield branch of the Leeds Liverpool canal.  In fact Standedge tunnel, the longest, highest canal tunnel in Europe is situated only half a mile from the hotel.

The New Inn
Further rooms are available at our sister establishment, the New Inn, situated in the village.  We acquired these premises in late 2007, and have made it once again a community pub serving traditional cask ales (Timothy Taylor Landlord, Black Sheep Best Bitter & Copper Dragon) together with continental cask and bottled lagers, a short but comprehensive wine list and all the usual spirits etc. and soft drinks.  Food is always available from snacks to three course meals.

The bedrooms were totally refurbished with full en suite facilities in summer 2008, and some rooms are very large and ideal for families.
